LOVE IS THE ROOT OF ALL

Who we are...

These bio's are a simple presentation of reality. We don't need to be self conscious or see what we do as anything than 100% success. This is our lives. This is how we exist right now on the planet. There is nothing to be disheartened about. We make choices and have to deal with and embrace the ramifications. We do a brilliant job at it and survive and have fun and have enormous ambitions that grow exponentially.

By taking a non-routine and lighthearted approach to how we present ourselves as dancers- it highlights the complex nature of our paradoxical situation.

We devote ourselves to art therefore must participate in society differently as the economy surrounding this industry is so minimal - this is a reflection of economy and not of ones individual talent/skills/achievements/desires. Our survival on a day to day basis is complex - and it is definitely a sidestep from how various groups in this world define "success." But i believe that the way we survive and what we "invest" in should be celebrated (if not by anyone else then at least ourselves!) It's as much a part of our character as our dance credentials. It's how we have come to see the world as we do. If we deny it and only admit we are one dimension of ourselves we are selling oursleves short.

I also don't want to whinge. I wast to be positive. And i think these random bio's are funny.

Lets fuck convention and be temps in offices that do stuff. Real stuff. Like dance.

Jacqueline Claus

Although Jacqueline, or Jacqui, turned down an audition for the Dutch National Ballet last weekend due to lack of organisation, she is currently unemployed. She has to date, focused her working life in the area of health, more specifically working in Pharmacy's both in Australia and the United Kingdom. This has been useful in many instances. She is currently living in Earl's Court whilst her friend Caroline is visting relatives and friends.

Kim Broadbent

Not too occupied at the present time. High hopes for the Sports Cafe, frist interview this Thursday, for a random bar job to make ends meet, whilst looking for a real job. But things are looking up, as Kim applied for work with another Temp agency today. Kim grew up in Brisbane, then moved to Perth and now is in London.

Emma Harris

Emma Harris worked in offices before embarking upon a career in dance - since graduating she has come full circle and is back in various London based recruitment agencies charming the pants off everyone. Emma is famed for bringing her exuberance to rehearsals. She's also very fashionable.

Laura Ross

Laura Ross currently spreads her time very thinly between an office and the tearoom's at Liberty in central London. A good friend and associate of Mr Andy King, she will be invovled in developing the photographic concepts for this project. She is also trawling her childhood memories to bring to the piece, namely a Celine Dion B side her mum used to listen to.

Sami Williams

Sami hails from Queensland - where she embraced her sociability and dance in the form of Hip Hop and Breakdance. This has come in handy to audition for such musicals as Daddy Cool and The Lion King. She works in a pub near Trafalgar square, but not for much longer. She skyrocketed the cattle call audition and is now part of the dance explosion that is overtaking the nation, Daddy Cool.

Kath Duhigg

Kath Duhigg is presently combining her passion for administration and dance by manning the reception desk at Siobhan Davies Dance Studios. She also shares her love of creativity and imagination with 170 school children weekly with arts education company Artis, teaching them the joys of dance, music and drama. London has seen her as an usher at The Lion King and a sales person at the Virgin Megastore, Tottenham Court Road. Kath lived part-time in Cambridge but didn't go to the University, she's already been in Queensland. She did a dance project with an English choreographer and enjoyed punting down the river. Let's Talk About Love is her first project with Jessyka Watson-Galbraith.

Paul Blackman

Blackman has always been a entertainer, its in the blood. He is not known to veer from this domain unless to cleaning a retired piano composers/teachers gardenand car to be paid with $10 and packet of fillet steak. It helps to be a good looking male with a hip way of speaking and a stylistic mover, but there is more to him then that. But luckily these skills have recently taken him place's he wouldn't belive on a motorbike across Europe and landed him a role in Jasmin Vardimon's new work.

Juliette Barton

Currently taking up where Sylvie Guillem left off for Russell Maliphant Juliette is happy to move on form her work at Lucky Strike clothes store in Fremantle, Western Australia. Juliette has been with her boyfriend for a long time now and they live in West London in a house often frequented by travellers who choose to sleep on their floor for undeclared periods of time.

Mim Wheeler

Miriam Wheeler, or Mim is one of those dancers known for their grit and strength. She is as efficient and spectacular hanging from a rope naked - doing aerial as she is behind the bar at The Queens Tavern - Perth, Wagamama's - Wimbledon or on a bike being a courier in Sydney.

Keira Mason-Hill

Keira hovers in the realm of body to body contact improvisation. A keen life model and sister to a diplomat she has recently retired from her role as head usher at the Apollo and Lyric Theatres to pursue her interests in administration.

Ramona Mspierozek

Ramona is of Polish descent but sounds seductively Canadian. This part-time model and part-time bar manager at The Light on Shoreditch High Street has startlingly blue eyes and has been based in London for a few years. She feels she is an integral part of her network of friends, acquaintances and colleagues. She became part of this project through a mutual friend Kaya, who is now based in Brussels, and attended the Hofesh Schecter audition with the project co-ordinator. Neither of them got the job with Hofesh.

Lee Johnston

Lee Johnston spent four years supplementing her studies at the Lane Cove Cheesecake Shop. She has carried this and her first year in Archeolgoical studies at Sydney University all the way to Wales where she is rocket launching up the ranks of Diversions Dance Company. A keen reader of classic literature comes in handy when she comes to London to visit her sister Kiri, who is named after the opera singer. Lee and Kiri's mother has always maintained a practice in singing.

Darren Anderson

Despite forays into performances with the likes of Chrissie Parrott and Charlotte Vincent, the Bundaberg born and bred Darren Anderson, still maintains that his career highlight thus far has been as the door man at Supre in Brisbane. His penchant for food handling has also seen him as a Subway off-peak manager 1999-2002 and part of the Nando's team in Cardiff earlier this year. Something that makes Darren distinctive is his abilit to eat copious amounts of toast.

Eliza McNeill

Eliza is your typical Bondi beach girl. A smile like sunshine and an undecipherable Australian accent. This is completely endearing and has landed her one of her best gigs yet at the Chelsea Club, home to the gym of the footballers and upper echelons of pop and society. Eliza's set on keeping up the trend of non-Essex WAG's. Eliza is famed for making Asiatic soups with hummous so it's almost like Miso.

Chelsea Funnell

Chelsea Funnell has a fantastic personality, and is much appreciated at the beauty Cobella salon currently based in Kensington and Selfridges. A magnet for sociability her skills have also been appreciates at The Brisbane Hotel and The Queens Tavern in Perth, Western Australia. Chelsea discovered how precious and fragile life can be when a seemingly innocent stamp of the foot on the dance floor on a friends pergola resulted in a broken ankle. But she's fully recovered now - thanks to a few weeks on the Greek island of Mythankixosiopolous.

Robert Bell

Robert was once likened to a Star Wars extra whilst dancing to Celine Dion, however this was only to add fuel to his enormous desire to find more challenging character roles within dance. Being cellar-man at Sadler's Wells has been beneficial not only to investigate Victorian era physical labour style roles, but he has been able to build the networks that saw him land his next job at the ROH, in Will Tuckett's Wind In The Willows. This has meant he can now pursue his interests in organic and gourmet food. He lives in Clapton with Dave and Jasmin.

Jessyka Watson-Galbraith

Jessyka was born in Perth, Western Australia. A keen sportswoman who had a fantastic childhood. She now lives in London and has worked for the Ernst & Young, Barclays Bank, the Institute for Therapy in the Arts, the Royal Academy of Music, the Financial Services Authority and Aramid Capital. Her finest dance moment would have to be at the Sonar By Night festival in Barcelona 2005, with Diplo. After a year in London she is now an afficionado on free internet access and has developed unhealthy passion for Craig David, Kelly Clarkson and Celine Dion.
